The Murphysboro Kiwanis Club meets at the ‘Pig Pen’ (room at the back and to your left) at the17th St Bar & Grill Warehouse, 32 N 17th St Murphysboro, IL at 6:15 pm each Monday. Members order their meals from the menu.
Murphysboro Kiwanis Club is one of 6 clubs in Division 36. The other clubs in Division 36 are: Anna, Carbondale Noon, Harrisburg, Marion and Metropolis.
The club has 28 members and is proud to support the Murphysboro High School Key Club and the Murphysboro Middle School Builders Club. It also supports the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale chapter of Circle K.
The club is actively involved in ongoing service projects in the Murphysboro community such as:
providing backpacks stuffed with toiletries and toys to the emergency room at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital for children displaced due to family crises such as auto accidents and house fires
providing "sippy cups" for children which are distributed through many local service agencies
hosting the annual teacher appreciation banquet at Murphysboro High School
hosting the annual honors awards banquet at Murphysboro High School
hosting the Apple Time General Store at the annual community event, the Apple Festival, and supporting the Murphysboro Key Club members in their service endeavors, leadership training and conventions
